There are good reasons why Évora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was named a European Capital of Culture for 2027. A stroll through the old town, with its narrow cobbled streets, is like a journey through 2,000 years of history. Diverse influences have shaped the city, from Roman and Moorish occupations to contemporary Portuguese culture.
Join us on an exciting journey through time to the Roman Temple of Diana, medieval churches, and numerous Renaissance buildings. Of course, a visit to the Chapel of Bones is a must—unique and somewhat eerie.
Our guide, Marisa, knows many stories about this vibrant city, both ancient and modern. We will also meet a representative from the municipality who, like no other in Évora, understands the challenges and expectations this UNESCO World Heritage city faces and what it means to be selected as a European Capital of Culture.
At the end of the day, we will enjoy a delicious Portuguese dinner.
We will leave Faro early in the morning by bus and return late at night. Those who wish may stay overnight in Évora and continue their journey to Lisbon the following day, or take a train back to Faro.

We will discover two of the Algarve’s most iconic locations: Silves, the former Moorish capital of the region, and Lagos, a city closely connected to the Portuguese Age of Discoveries.
In Silves, we will delve into Portugal’s medieval and Islamic past. Walking through its cobbled streets feels like stepping back in time to the days of Moorish Iberia.
Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, the vibrant coastal city of Lagos was one of the Portuguese cities most severely affected by the devastating earthquake of 1755. Here, we will not only explore centuries-old architectural heritage but also hear the story of Europe’s first slave market.
And what would a visit to Lagos be without a stop at its most iconic cliffs, featured in countless travel brochures?
We will leave Faro early in the morning by bus and return in the evening.
